Merrie wanted me to share this with you:
It's been 14 days since Bryan had that first small bleed which was the warning signal for greater problems going on in his brain that would have otherwise been missed. So literally we are grateful for "little things". The family has settled into a hospital habit.... Becky is at Bryan's room at 8am while Merrie sleeps in and arrives around 11am so that Becky can go back to the hotel for a rest in the afternoon. The past several days they have done lots of crossword puzzles, played card games, and talked quietly. Sometimes Bryan participated, sometime he rested. Over the past week he has had Chinese food, Pizza, McDonald's burger, and Grandma June's Chicken noodle matzo ball soup. He enjoyed everything, but the chicken soup really did minister to his soul. Merrie and becky survive on PB&J, breakfast sandwich, cereal bars, and sandwihes from the little shop by the hospital entrance. Joe continues to visit brining the mail (thanks for all the cards, keep them coming), the laundry, bottled water, etc.
Today they have scheduled Bryan for another angiogram hopefully around 11am. Bryan can't eat from 12am on the day of these tests so we always hope they bring him down early in the day. This test will comfirm the success of the past 3 procedures (embolizations). If the angiogram shows the sucess, then they will most likely schedule Bryan for brain surgery on Monday to remove the small AVM in the cerebullum portion of his brain.
Though he is not out of the woods yet, we can see the light. Bryan is getting nuggy to come home and the idea of another week in the ICU is a bit disheartening. He understands this is necessary for total recovery.
He continues to love those blog comments and is encouraged to know so many people are concerned and praying for him litteraly around the world. (AU, Hungry, Kenya, Israel, as well as coast to coast USA)
I will update the blog when we get the results of the angiogram.

Bryan- wish we were there to enjoy your Grandma's chicken noodle matzo ball soup and keep you company! You are prayed for all throughout the day as we are lifting you up in our different time zones across the globe! Our church is praying for you along with the Wertheims!! With blessings and prayers ~ the Evans family (SF,CA)
Hi Jenny, Great Blogging! It sure helps to pray specifically. Bryan, Greg & I are friends of, and co-laborers with Sam Weiner (your cousin?). Our families are also connected through another wonderful family at my church, the Sweeneys. Tim Sweeney passed (Aunt?) Pattie's prayer request on to us at the Athol-Orange Baptist. We are all praying as the Lord brings you to mind and HE DOES - I couldn't go back to work today without checking in. May you be blessed as you trust Him today! Hugs to your whole family! Nancy
Dear Bryan,
I'm hoping that by now (I'm writing this at 10:20 PST) you are done with the latest tinkering and perhaps are even recovered enough to be back in your room resting. Continuing to pray for you faithfully, and sending our love and care to you across the miles. Love to Becky, Merrie and Joe, and way to go, Grandma June for that Jewish penicillin...thinking of you with much love, and with gratitude for all God is doing in you--Janie & Steve
Hey Bryan,
Think about you every day and glad to hear you are doing well. You will be out and about before you know it.
ICU isn’t fun however; they will help you on your road to recovery. Glad to hear that you have the support of family and friends. You and Becky will grow stronger together because of this experience. Trust me I know.
Becky, I know this is a stressful and difficult time for you. It isn’t easy seeing someone you love sick. Please remember to take care of yourself. Eat right and get rest (I sound like a mom).
Bryan, I wish you a speedy and full recovery.
Bryan-You have really been through a lot and it sounds as if you are holding up very well!! You will be in my prayers, and I'm wishing you a speedy recovery from your next procedure.

I am overjoyed to hear of how our God is working in Brian and the whole family. I know this is exhausting, but He is there to carry you. It's been a while since I've seen Brian, but I'll never forget that sweet spirit, and that kind face. I am also so grateful for this blog so I can keep up on the progress of things and pray more intelligently. When I think of you all, I am reminded of a song that a lady in our church sings:
"Looking back through the years,
All the heartaches and tears,
My Lord has never once let me down.
Though I don't understand
Still I'll hold to His hand,
For He said that His grace would abound.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And there's no need to doubt Him now.
He'll make a way somehow.
Safely, this far, Jesus has brought me
And there's no need to doubt Him now!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Child of God have no fear
Though your path seems unclear.
Some day God's plan will unfold.
He has never, never failed!
He will always prevail.
The Lord is still in control!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And there's no need to doubt Him now.
He'll make a way some how.
Safely, this far, Jesus has brought me.
There's no need to doubt Him now."
I will continue to pray. I love you all.
Sincerely,
Sarah (Sevarino) Wall
Hi Bryan -
Your Mom and Dad, Grandma and yes, even Flannery via this web site, have been keeping me up to date on your day to day recovery. I hope the 'game' last week didn't upset you too much (tee hee!). But as your Dad said, it's almost spring training! I know you can't wait to get home. SOON! Keep up your spirits, and when you get home we'll take a drive in to see you. (We just got back form Paris - again, so we'll tell you all about that.) Much love to Becky and everyone.
Love,
Aunt Anne
